AI-Media Technologies is preparing to ‘end-of—life’ (EOL) the Debian 10 and Debian 11 Operating Systems (OS) on the ALTA TS and ALTA 2110 encoders. Debian 12 is the current and supported OS version for all ALTA encoders. To ensure optimal security and continued access to the latest updates, all ALTA TS and ALTA 2110 encoders will need to operate on Debian 12. Debian 12 images are available at no cost to current customers.
We are in process of confirming the timeline and dates from which the Debian 10 and Debian 11 OS versions will no longer be supported. The following EOL schedule is proposed and in process of being finalized:
- Final Release Date for new upgrades & software releases: November 30, 2026
- Final Release Date for new security patches: December 30, 2026
- End-of-Life Date: December 31, 2026
Note: The above dates are all United States Eastern time zone.
For instructions on how to determine the Debian OS version running and/or rebuilding to Debian 12 OS on an ALTA encoder, submit a Support Ticket to the AI-Media Technical Support Team by sending an email to: eeg.support@ai-media.tv and include details on how the ALTA encoder is hosted. Additionally, if Alta is hosted on a ProLiant server, the unit may need to be returned to AI Media’s Farmingdale facility for the rebuild. Shipping and engineering costs may be incurred.
