Encoder Version 4.0.0 Release Notes

AI-Media released Alta 2110 Encoder version 4.0.0 on June 5, 2026. We recommend all Alta 2110 customers upgrade to encoder version 4.0.0 at a convenient time.

Highlights

Alta 2110 version 4.0.0 brings LEXI Voice to your encoder. With this upgrade, you can now convert live speech from your broadcasts into high-quality, real-time captions and translated audio.

Enhancements

  • This release adds LEXI Voice to the Alta 2110. With this upgrade, you can convert live broadcast speech into real-time captions. This builds on our industry-leading captioning products and your Alta 2110 system, allowing you to deliver the best possible broadcasts to your audiences.
  • With the addition of LEXI Voice to the encoder, we added a LEXI Voice option to the Alta 2110 web interface. Please see the Web Interface Version 4.0.2 Release Notes for more information.
  • This release also includes an overhaul of the encoder's logging tools.
  • This release adds support for LEXI Voice SMPTE 2110-30 audio output, with a current maximum of 8 output channels and a fixed packet rate of 1 ms.
  • Alta 2110 now supports configurable SCTE-104 message filtering for LEXI blocking. With Block on SCTE-104 enabled on a channel, users can select from supported SCTE-104 message types that trigger stop captions and resume captions events. Please see Web Interface Version 4.1.0 Release Notes for more information.
  • This release includes overall enhancements to logging functions, which improves users' understanding of encoder activity and configuration status.

Resolved Issues

  • This release resolves a channel layout error that occurred when users processed Evertz breakaway audio (4 PCM, no video).
  • We corrected an issue that caused the IS-04 sources endpoint to not include the full set of audio channel properties. This resulted in incomplete audio source registration. This feature now functions correctly.
  • This release resolves an issue where the NMOS IS-05 transport file endpoint was serving incorrect audio sender information, including incorrect channel count and channel ordering. The system now serves this information as intended.

  • The upgrade process takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and stops all running Alta channels. Be sure to schedule this update for a time that is suitable for your company.
