Encoder Version 3.11.0 Release Notes

Updated

AI-Media released Alta 2110 Encoder v3.11 on March 13, 2026. We recommend all Alta 2110 customers upgrade to encoder version 3.11 at a convenient time.

Improvements

  • This update includes refinements to SCTE-104 LEXI triggers to allow for full splice types beyond immediate only. 
  • Alta now supports these SCTE-104 triggers: 
    • Start Normal
    • Start Immediate 
    • End Normal
    • End Immediate
    • Cancel 
    • Time Signal 
  • Version 3.11.0 provides several back-end updates to improve security and overall reliability. 

Upgrade Instructions

Notes

  • If you encounter any problems during the upgrade process, submit a case to AI-Media's support team.
  • This upgrade is distributed as a .deb file of approximately 45 MB. Be sure your workstation has enough free space before you download the update file.
  • The upgrade process takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and stops all running Alta channels. Be sure to schedule this update for a time that is suitable for your company.
  • Do not navigate away from the System Update page until the entire update is complete. If you navigate away from the update page, you will need to restart the update process.

Instructions

To upgrade your Alta 2110 to version 3.11:

  1. Complete the AI-Media Product Update Request form (opens in a new window). Be sure to select the specific Alta package types that you need for your site. Our Sales or Support teams will contact you and provide you with the necessary update files.
  2. Follow the instructions you receive from AI-Media and download the upgrade files to a workstation on your network.
  3. Log into your Alta Web Portal, and then click Update in the top tool bar.
  4. On the System Update page, click Browse, and then navigate to the location on your computer where you downloaded the installation file.
  5. Select the update file, and then click Upload on the System Update page. 
  6. Click Apply. The system processes the update. 
    Note: One the update starts, there is no way to cancel it.
  7. Click Confirm on the success message. The system returns you to your Alta Channels page.
  8. On the Alta Channels page, restart any Alta Channels that did not restart automatically.
  9. Navigate to System > System Info from the top tool bar and confirm the Encoder version is Alta 2110 Encoder v3.11.
