In order to use LEXI Voice for for live voice translations, you must configure your encoder to accept LEXI Voice input.
Before You Begin
This procedure requires an encoder software upgrade. Contact AI-Media for the upgrade files, and for assistance installing them:
- Pre-sale customers: contact the sales engineering team.
- Post-sale customers: contact AI-Media support.
IMPORTANT NOTES
This upgrade disables the decoder software, iCap video, and LEXI Vision. A future software release will reactivate these services.
Do not install this upgrade or perform these steps if you do not want to deactivate these services.
Confirm the following:
- Your encoder is running software version 5.3.0 or later.
- You have configured and enabled iCap on your encoder. If you have not, contact AI-Media:
- Pre-sale customers: contact the sales engineering team.
- Post-sale customers: contact AI-Media support.

Embedded audio group 1 is present on your encoder's SDI input.
- LEXI is configured to generate primary language captions.
Configuration Instructions
To configure LEXI Voice on your encoder:
- Log into eegcloud with your AI-Media Cloud Services username and password.
- Click LEXI Translate.
- On the LEXI Translate Instances page, click Add New.
- Configure the Complete a new LEXI Translate Instance form, and then click Submit. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
- On the LEXI Translate Instances page, click your new instance.
- Click the Off/On toggle to turn the instance ON. The Caption Activity section displays with its iCap Status listed as Translating.
- On your encoder's web portal, click iCap.
- In the Miscellaneous section of the iCap configuration, click Accept LEXI Voice and Mirror on Tracks 4 & 5, and then click Apply. The system creates translated mono audio output on group 1, channel 4.
