Your setup begins with the Access Code, which links a caption service, such as LEXI ASR, to your encoder.
Create one Access Code for each caption service you need. For a LEXI Voice setup you create two Access Codes, service 1 (S1) for the primary captions and a secondary service (S2-S6) for the translated and voice service. In this example, S1 is English and S2 is Spanish.
Note: iCap sends program audio from your encoder to LEXI, and it returns captions and translated dialog from LEXI to your encoder. Each Access Code defines one of these connections for a single caption service.
Before you begin
Access Codes are created in iCap Admin, not on the encoder. Confirm the following before you start. Each is a visual check that takes seconds.
| Check | Where to look | Correct state |
| iCap Admin access | iCap Admin | You can open Access Codes and the Add New button is available |
| Encoder registered in iCap | iCap Admin > Users | Your encoder is listed and tagged online next to the logged-in user |
| EEG Cloud account | EEG Cloud | You can sign in; this is where the LEXI instances are created in Part 2 |
Decide before you start which CC Service number each caption stream will use. The service numbers you choose here must match the ones you select later in EEG Cloud and on the encoder, so write them down. This guide uses S1 for English and S2 for Spanish.
Note: AI-Media creates an iCap user account of type Encoder for your UHD592 before it ships. You need this account's username to link your Access Codes to the encoder. To find it, open the encoder's iCap Login page. If no username appears, or you can't find the account in iCap Admin, contact AI-Media support before continuing.
Step 1: Create Primary Access Code (S1)
- In iCap Admin, select Access Codes in the left navigation.
- select Add New to create one.
-
Basic Information — enter a name for the Access Code and set CC Service to the service number, for this example, 1.
-
Note: The Access Code name cannot be changed after the code is created. Choose a name you will still recognize months from now, and one that identifies the encoder and the service it serves.

-
Associated Encoders — set Select Primary Encoder to the encoder you are setting up.
-
Captioner Permissions — under Select Caption Providers, add EEG Lexi ASR (EEGASR).
-
Review — confirm the details, then select Finish to create the code.
Step 2: Create Translated Access Code (S2-S6)
-
Repeat Step 1 for each additional service. For this LEXI Voice and LEXI Translate example, create a second Access Code and select S2 (Spanish) as the service.
Important: LEXI Translate and LEXI Voice will not activate unless the S2 Access Code is shared with EEGASR and linked to the same encoder as S1. This produces no error message. The translation and voice simply never start, so check both on the S2 code before moving on.
Step 3: Verify your Access Codes are live
- To check that the encoder is connected to the associated iCap account, within Users, a connected encoder is tagged online next to the logged-in user.
- To check that service level Access Codes are connected correctly, confirm the Primary Encoder is shown in green text.
Note: If the Primary Encoder is not green, the code is not bound to the encoder. Go back to Associated Encoders on that Access Code to reconfigure before continuing.
What comes next
With the Access Codes created and verified, continue to Part 2 - UHD592 EEG Cloud Setup, where you create the LEXI instances that are mapped to these Access Codes.
