Quick Setup

To set up your encoder:

  1. Plug your encoder into an electrical outlet, and then press the Power button.
  2. Configure the encoder’s network settings:
    • Use the control pad on the front panel to navigate to System Set-up > Network Settings.
    • Assign a static IP address, netmask, and gateway address, and DNS servers. Note: We recommend placing your encoder behind your network’s firewall.
  3. LEXI and iCap users only: Configure your network (firewall, proxy, etc.) to allow outbound connections to https://eegcloud.tv, port 443. For more information, refer to the iCap Firewall guide (see the QR code above).
  4. Connect SDI video to the encoder. Output captions display on the SDI video output with use of an external decoder or connect output to AUX out to use system decoder.

Testing Captions

With video input connected, you can send a stream of encoder-generated test captions to the video output to ensure the encoder is set up correctly. To send test captions, navigate to Utilities > Test Captions > Enable > On. and confirm that a stream of caption text displays on the encoder’s output. If there are no captions, contact Ai-Media’s support team. After testing, navigate to Utilities > Test Captions > Enable > Off to turn off test captions.
