Version 6.1.2 Release Notes

We released Encoder Pro (HD492) software version 6.1.2 on December 15, 2025. This follows and builds on the 6.1.1 release and provides additional enhancements. Due to the timing and relationship between version 6.1.1 and 6.1.2, this document includes the version 6.1.1 release notes for your convenience. 

Highlights

SSL 

With this release, you can use uniquely configured certificate signing requests (CSRs) to obtain valid certificates.

LEXI Controller / iCap 

  • This release corrects an issue with the API status endpoint returning an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.
  • This release adds a Manual option to LEXI > Settings > Switchback to Primary Upon. Users can directly control when to switch back. 
  • We made additional corrections to prevent the encoder from making rapid reconnect attempts after an abnormal disconnection from LEXI DR.

Update Instructions

Follow these instructions to update your Encoder Pro (HD492) from version 5.7.2 or later to software version 6.1.2. 

Do not install this update if your system is running a software version earlier than version 5.7.2. If your system is using a version earlier than 5.7,2, submit a request (opens in a new window) with our support team for help.

Notes and Recommendations

  • Read all upgrade notes and steps fully before upgrading your system to be sure you understand all aspects of the upgrade process.
  • This update typically takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete, but may take up to 30 minutes. We recommend scheduling one hour for the process to complete. Schedule the update at a time that is convenient for your company to minimize downtime and service delays. 
  • For maximum technical support availability, do not apply the update just before or on weekends. 
  • This update powers down your Encoder Pro (HD492) and requires a manual restart. 
  • IMPORTANT: If your system has not powered down on its own, but the front LCD displays an update-complete message, Do not power the encoder off.  Submit a request (opens in a new tab) with our support team for help.

Upgrading Through The Web Portal

To apply the update through the HD492 web portal:
  1. Complete the AI-Media Product Update Request form (opens in a new tab). Be sure to select the specific packages that you need for your site. Our Sales or Support teams will contact you and provide you with the necessary update files.
  2. Follow the instructions you receive from AI-Media and download the upgrade files to a workstation on your network.
  3. Reboot your encoder before applying this update.
  4. In a web browser, navigate to your HD492's web portal, for example https://192.168.1.2.
  5. From the left tool bar, click Update.
  6. In the Software Update section, click Choose File, then navigate to and select to your upgrade file, and then click Open. The system validates the file, and then the filename and description display in the table.
  7. Click Install. The software installs and the system automatically shuts down when complete. 
    Note: Do not power off the system manually. If the system does not power off, submit a request (opens in a new tab) with our support team for help.

    IMPORTANT: Do not close your browser window or navigate away from the Update page while the update is in progress.
  8. Manually restart your HD492. The Software Update page displays a message confirming the update is complete and the system has restarted.
  9. Perform a hard refresh your web browser to ensure the changes have taken effect.
    • Google Chrome: press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
    • Safari (Mac only): press Opt+Cmd+E, and then press Cmd+R.
    • Microsoft Edge / Internet Explorer (Windows only): press Ctrl+F5.
    • Firefox: press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).

 

Version 6.1.1 Release Notes

AI-Media released Encoder Pro (HD492) software version 6.1.1 on December 5, 2025. This update includes improvements and resolved issues for these components:

Highlights

Update Page

This release corrects a known issue that caused the encoder to crash when reloading during upgrade. This is a resolution to a critical issue.

Operating System

  • The operating system of Encoder Pro (HD492) systems is now Debian 12.
  • We have also included updates to tighten a number of security vulnerabilities.

LEXI Voice

This release adds a new Audio Settings page to LEXI Voice, which controls and configures routing and effects.
 

Component Updates

Caption Text Server

  • This release changes the default output to UTF-8.
  • We corrected a defect that caused systems to run out of storage space.

Cavena

  • We have redesigned and made cosmetic changes to the Cavena module.
  • Added API support for STU status changes.

CCPlay 3.3.0

  • This release adds DCS file support.
  • We have improved special character support.
  • The CCPlay module now includes NAS caption retrieval.
  • We have also made general performance updates and improvements.

Date/Time

  • The encoder now displays the correct time based on the local timezone rather than UTC.
  • We have corrected issues that resulted in settings not taking effect as intended. Settings now apply correctly.

Decoder

  • This release resolves issues with Bulgarian and Ukrainian characters.
  • We have corrected an issue that caused some text not to display on previews with 720p60 upstream displays.
  • This update improves OP47 decoding.
     

GPIO Module

  • We have moved GPIO display from the main page to a new GPIO page.
  • This update adds the LEXI status to the user interface.
     

LEXI Controller / iCap

  • Added a manual fail-over feature for LEXI DR Disaster Recovery, and resolved bugs related to failovers.
  • This release adds improved support for LEXI Translate.
  • With this release, the system now recognizes SCTE-104 chapter-start and chapter-end descriptors.
  • We have added a number of stability and performance enhancements.
