AI-Media released Alta TS Encoder v4.0.8 on November 21, 2025. This update includes improvements and resolves issues for these components:
Multiplexer
Improvements
- This release doubles the input buffer size to account for bursty input, input rate variation and GOP (Group of Pictures) size fluctuation.
- We have added buffers that use high-performance, lock-free substitutes to avoid deadlocks or overfilling when the above input cases occur.
- Alta TS now includes processes for the graceful handling of elementary stream (ES) sync scenarios. Specifically, ES process ID (PID) streams (i.e. audio) no longer clock multiplexer buffers when their presentation timestamp (PTS) values fall behind the program clock reference (PCR).
Teletext
Improvements
- SRT Output as Listener now handles multiple caller connections when sending data.
- We have made general improvements for the overall stability of transport streams using SRT.
- This release includes improved logging for error detection.
Resolved Issues
- This release corrects an issue that caused duplicate substitutions and occasional dropped words in caption output.
SRT (Secure Reliable Stream) Issues
- This version resolves an issue where rapidly disconnecting and reconnecting causes the Alta instance to crash.
- A previous issue that caused socket deadlocking and required users to restart the Alta instance has been resolved.
- An issue with filled internal buffers preventing output from being sent, and requiring the Alta instance to be restarted, no longer occurs.
- SRT Input as Caller now attempts to reconnect and no longer requires users to restart their Alta instance. This resolves an issue where, if the connection fails when the Alta instance is starting, the system retries automatically.
- SRT Output as Caller now attempts to reconnect and no longer requires users to restart Alta instance. This resolves an issue where, if the connection fails when the Alta instance is starting, the system retries automatically.
