LEXI DR Version 5.2.1 Upgrade

This document provides information about upgrading your LEXI DR to version 5.2.1 from version 5.2.0 or 5.0.0.

Apply this update only to LEXI DR systems. Do not apply this update to a LEXI Local or any other device.

General

The new release of version 5.2.1 upgrades any LEXI DR currently running software v5.2.0 or v5.0.0 into a v5.2.1 unit, with all the latest changes.

Notes About the Upgrade

  • This release upgrades your LEXI DR to version 5.2.1, including all changes from version 5.0.0 or 5.2.0.
  • Version 5.2.1 supports these languages by default:
    • English
    • Spanish
    • French
    • German
  • This upgrade installs recent language models for improved transcription and speaker diarization accuracy.
  • This upgrade deletes all other languages and older software versions.
  • All user settings and logs remain intact, and you will continue to have access to them after the upgrade.

Recommendations

  • Do not shut down the system while the upgrade is in progress. This could result in a software failure and leave your system unusable.
  • The total upgrade time is approximately 80 minutes. Please schedule the upgrade for a time that is convenient for your site’s operations. More information is in the Upgrade Instructions section of this document.
  • Do not apply this update if there are any instances running. Stop all instances before starting the update process.
  • Ignore any Fail to Fetch messages that display on the website.
  • Ignore any LCD messages.
  • Be aware that the system reboots on its own as it progresses through the upgrade. This is normal and expected.
  • After the system reboots, perform a hard refresh your web browser. Otherwise, the DR may not display the latest changes, which could impede the update process. To hard refresh:
    • Google Chrome: press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
    • Safari (Mac only): press Opt+Cmd+E, and then press Cmd+R.
    • Microsoft Edge / Internet Explorer (Windows only): press Ctrl+F5.
    • Firefox: press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
  • IMPORTANT: Do not apply the upgrade if you have any instances that use a language other than English, Spanish, French, or German.
    • If you have instances using another language, change it to one of the default languages, and then apply the update.
      • If your unit does not have any of those languages, please contact Ai-Media Support to receive further information.
    • If you need a language other than the defaults, please contact Ai-Media support to receive a Language Pack that includes the one you need. For more information about supported languages, visit Supported Languages.

Upgrade Instructions

  1. Stop any running instances on your LEXI DR.
  2. Download and apply the pre-update file based on the current version of your unit. If your system is on 5.0.0, download LDR5.0.0a. If your system is on version 5.2.0, use LDR5.2.0a.
    • File size is approximately 1.2 MB.
    • This upgrade takes approximately 15 seconds to complete.
    • Your unit keeps the same version but with the letter a added to the end (ex. 5.0.0a).
  3. If you are upgrading from version 5.0.0, download lexi_dr_5.0.0_to_5.2.1 and apply the 5.2.1 update.
    • File size is approximately 1.4 GB.
    • This upgrade takes approximately 6 minutes to complete.
    • Your unit changes to version 5.2.1.
  4. If you are upgrading from version 5.2.0, download and apply the 5.2.1 update file at lexi_dr_5.2.1.
    • File size is approximately 135 MB.
    • This upgrade takes approximately 8 minutes to complete.
    • Your unit changes to version 5.2.1.
  5. Download and apply the Language Package at LL-5.2.1-LangPack. This file includes English, Spanish, French, and German.
    • File size is approximately 20 GB.
    • This upgrade takes 60-65 minutes to complete. 

Known Issue with Version 5.2.1

Following the update, you may encounter a situation where the manual SYNC NOW and DELETE SYNCED DATA buttons become disabled. Ai-Media is aware of this situation and expects to correct it with software version 5.2.2. This does not affect the 10-minute auto-sync process.
